Links, Books, Rooms, and Ebooks for $2 or Less

First up, if you’re looking for a room for RWA, Alyssa may be able to help you, or, you might be able to hook her up with some help. She can’t attend RWA but her plans changed too late to cancel her reservation. Details at her site.

Second: Cake Wrecks gives you another hero possibility, those of you who are looking for heroes and plots and really erect inspiration.

Hell, why not a romance hero who loves cupcake cakes and works in a bakery with crazy cake orders that require scaffolding? Hot men plus buttercream icing plus knowledge of pastry? WIN!

[Thanks to Janet Mullany for the link.]

Third, I’m a tad late on this one, but Hachette is offering a set of five books, including two new releases, for $1.99 for July 2009. At sites like Books on Board, with discount they’re often a little less than $1.99 – which is just crazypants, right?

Images are to Amazon Kindle, and individual links are to Books on Board.

One Scream Away by Kate Brady

Border Moonlight by Amanda Scott

Knight of Desire by Margaret Mallory

Seducing a Scottish Bride by Sue-Ellen Welfonder (I totally snickered at this cover on Twitter recently – love the utterly not realistic shoe she’s wearing).

Love is in the Heir by Kathryn Caskie.

The $2 promotion is just awesome – I can’t understand for the life of me why not every ebook vendor takes advantage of it.

  2. Jessica G. says:

I already snagged the Caskie book for my Sony. The others didn’t grab me too much.

Question- can fans stop by RWA for a booksigning or something without having passes? I just realized I’m going to be in the DC area that weekend, and I wasn’t sure if they were going to have something like that.

Security word: going95, as in Hell No, I Am Not Going Down 95 to DC.

  3. Melissa says:

I think that you have perfectly described Duff drom ace of cakes a s romance hero!

  4. Wendy says:

Jessica G. – The Literacy Signing Wednesday evening is free admission and open to the public.  The only cost is however many books you buy – and all proceeds go to charity.
