NYU’s Summer Publishing Institute, with Smart Bitches

NYUIn a rare joint appearance, Candy and I will be on a panel today at NYU’s Summer Publishing Institute, which this year is devoted to Book, Magazine, and Digital Publishing.

The panel, which is made up of book bloggers, will discuss how publishers promote books and what we think of the state of publishing. Sorry, folks, I don’t think it’s open to the public.

But hell, if it were? It would be a Twitter-extravaganza. For one thing, I think 60% of the panel is named “Sara(h)”, which adds fuel to the theory that there are 9 people total in New York publishing, and at least two are named Sara(h).

I’ll be the one twitching in awe at the other panelists, who include Sara Nelson, Sarah Weinman (aka, The Real @SarahW), Jessica Stockton Bangulo, Sarah Burningham, Ron Hogan, and Richard Nash.

Seriously, this panel should be so much fun and information, I hope someone tweets – or at least takes notes.

Won’t this be the third time you guys have actually met face-to-face? Here’s to a great after party!

    face36-weird…

  2. Just want to say how great it was to meet you both today. Sorry I didn’t get your emails, but I’d love to stay in touch. You two are really smart bitches. (Can I really say that?)

Wish I could’ve been there! I was in my apartment, three blocks away, trying not to melt in the heat.

  4. Wow, what a lineup! If you ever find out that the panel was summarized, taped, etc, I hope you’ll share the link. Or maybe I can find a student willing to share her notes…
