“What if he’s… the bad guy?” A Bosoms Outtake

Over at Sara Reports, the blog of Sara J. Henry, there’s an outtake from the Bosoms, wherein I talk about the trifecta of evil that makes up an old skool villain:

So how do you know when the bad guy – or girl – is the villain? Use our handy dandy litmus test – The Trifecta of Evil. Note: most commonly applicable to old skool historical romances of the 1980s.

Now, no fair cheating by reading the back cover copy. Sometimes the copywriters give away the whole mystery of Who Is Evil by telling you: “And will their new love survive the cold machinations of Lord Bumphuckerton?” This is for when you’ve read a few pages, and realize – perhaps you’re not sure, but that creepy guy who keeps showing up over near the docks and tends to cause children and horses to tremble in fear … maybe he’s the bad guy.

Thank you to Sara for having us visit with our heaving outtakes.

ETA: not sure what happened to the link – working on it! In the meantime: evil trifecta of villain, the Google Cache version.

Just finished the book about 20 minutes ago and have to say it was awesome. Laughed out loud a lot and gave it 5 stars on goodreads. 😀

Teh buttsecks was always the SIGN OF EVIL in Beatrice (Queen of Sex) Small’s early works.  Didn’t poor Skye O’Malley have to take it through the back door with every villian that stalked the 16th century?

Alas! I cannot get the link to work! (don’t know if that’s a sign of villainy or not…)

Sorry, the page you were looking for in the blog Sara Reports does not exist.

    *sigh*

And I wanted to read about the Trifecta of Evil.  I bet with the villainess, it’s the fact that she has/enjoys sex.  Right?

Lita:  That made me cackle so much I woke up the dog.

    spamword:  husband43.

Didn’t Skye have about 43 husbands or was that the buttsecks count?
