Love as the Practice of Freedom

Smack in the middle of RT, I’m flying up to Princeton to take part in a closing plenary at the Love as the Practice of Freedom? Romance Fiction and American Culture conference. Check out the schedule. No, specifically, the plenary I’m on:

5:30-6:30   Closing Roundtable: Romance Reads the Academy

  * Michelle Buonfiglio, blogger and reviewer (Romance: B(u)y the Book)
  * Sarah Wendell, blogger and reviewer (Smart Bitches, Trashy Books)
  * Diane Pershing, romance author, President, Romance Writers of America (2008-2009)
  * Monica Jackson, author, paranormal romance; contributor to “Blogging in Black” and other author websites
  * Krisa Stroever, editor, Harlequin Books

Attendance is free. So come on down. You know you wanna.

But..um. Uh… I think the dude at the top is on fire.

I saw Backdraft; that guy is definitely on fire. Congratulations on the plenary (had to look that one up). You’ll wow them with your erudition.

  2. Kaye says:

I go to Rutgers, so I seriously think I will be attending this conference. Congrats!

And yes… that guy is totally on fire.

  3. SonomaLass says:

Yeah, dude, don’t stand so close to the fireplace when you’ve been eating cabbage, or beans, or whatever that was.  Srsly.

I wish I could just “come on down” to Princeton, because I totally would.  But it’s a little far to go from NorCal *sigh*.  You, Jennifer Crusie, Eloisa James and Sarah Franz all at an academic conference?  That will rock!!

  4. Ciar Cullen says:

Well, since I work on that campus, I guess I’m actually out of excuses for skipping a conference, eh? I want to meet Sarah, anywho!

  5. Undomiel Regina says:

you mean I can take the train to this and justify it by visiting my parents?  Sold!

  6. Santa says:

I wanna.  I wanna.  All I have to do is juggle the kids, the job, oh and the hubby but he’s easy. 😉  Let’s see Princeton is only two hours from where I live.  That’s doable.
