It’s DABWAHA Time: Let the Voting Begin!

DABWAHA It’s time.  The books have been nominated, seeded and slated against each other.  Over 700 brackets were filled out.  (That’s twice as many as last year).  We’ve got some mad prizes: a Sony Reader for the one bracket that rules them all and a Sony Reader for the author who penned the Champion of the DABWAHA tournament.

This year, we are handing out prizes at the end of each round to the top scoring bracket.  Each right pick gives you points.  The goal, obviously, is to have the most right picks.  Even though your brackets are locked and you can’t change your choices, you still can effectuate the outcome by getting people to vote for the book you want to advance.

Voting starts on March 19, 2009, at 6:00 AM EST.  Each set of polls will run for 6 hours.  The set of polls will close and a new set will open recursively until March 21, 2009, at 6:00 AM EST when the last set of polls will close.  Results will be updated at the end of the day.

This is the voting site.  You should bookmark this link.  Check it every 6 hours on March 19, 20, and the wee hours of the 21st.

You can keep track of who is up, who is down and how your bracket is shaping up against the competition by reading the “REPORTS” at the DABWAHA tournament site.  You can see the actual standings and the projected standings (I have no idea how the computer program calculates this).  You can see which books were picked as the Champion.  Spymaster’s Lady was picked 93 times followed by Blue Eyed Devil (61), Tribute (58) and Dark Desires After Dusk (56).

Still interested in reading the books?  Options, you can has them!

Big huge heaping thanks to our sponsors, Sony, Harlequin, Samhain Publishing, Fictionwise and Books on Board, because they’ve enabled us to offer a prize for the winning bracket after each round of competition. For a complete list of the prizes, visit the DABWAHA.com site.

Good luck and let the trash talking begin.

Boo-hoo…my votes weren’t recorded. Got a business as usual message – no error, but I do not appear on the list. Maybe next year I won’t be such a tool and actually check after the fact that my ID appears in the drop down.

    Good luck…

Me too!  I’m so disappointed… Not at all sure what I did wrong but I’ve been bummed all day that I messed up my entry somehow. I did print off my list of picks so I can compare and so far I’m doing great. Last year I went out in the first round…

Will there be a losers bracket this year? I don’t imagine I could get in that but clearly I’m already a loser this year!

    I’m sure I get over this eventually…. with therapy… I’m thinking chocolate….

If you have an entry that you filled out before the deadline, email it to me and I’ll add you.

I stupidly didn’t print my picks and I forgot what I chose in some categories. Is there anyway to access my picks again?

  5. Lori says:

@Krista: Go to the main page, & then into the Tournament section.  From there go to the Current Standings.  Find your name on the list & click on it.  That will open your bracket & show you what you picked and which of those picks are still in the running.
