Welcome Back

Oh, my stars, did I miss this place. Hellooooo palace of hot pink wonderpants. We’ve upgraded, cleaned out the closets, and added a section. See up there? Book? Yeah – that’s the big part. Excerpts, outtakes, and quotes and press coverage. As we hear about reviews, we’ll add them to the collection. Good, bad, indifferent – doesn’t matter.

Welcome back! What did you do while we were gone? Me, I was busy. Holy shit, I was a whore for the bloggin’. While Baba was napping (double ear infection plus ruptured ear drum, poor thing) I went on an impromptu blog tour and ended up all over the place:

I was over at Dear Author embarrassing the ever living shit out of Jane.

Jenny Rappaport at LitSoup invited me over to discuss unemployment and whether more time = more fiction.

Keira Soleore invited me in to discuss my top two plot tropes – the smoldering hero and the unwilling attracted protagonist.

Kwana was gracious enough to host my ruminations on books I adore when it’s cold as balls outside.

And the Professors Brilliant let me past the door mat to reveal all the academic writing I’d be doing if I were still in academia.

Friendly neighborhood reviewer (literally – she’s my real-life neighbor) Katiebabs welcomed my top ten things I like about being a reviewer/reader of romance.

Jill Shalvis gets mad props for tolerating my squeeage.

Harlequin allowed me to make apologies for having dissed them in the past, and their paranormal romance blog gave me space to blather on about why I love paranormal heroines so much (the ass, and the kicking, combined).

And finally, Kassia at BookSquare gave me room to promote our upcoming panel at the O’Reilly Tools of Change conference: Smart Women Read eBooks.

This all started because I put out the word via Twitter that I was lonely for blogging venues, and folks were generous to give me space on their sites. Thank you to all the generous people who gave a twitchy blogger a few hundred words, and welcomed me into your virtual homes.

And now, back to your regularly scheduled Bitchery.

I havent’ figured out twitter yet, but I did drop in and read the posts there.

I plotted my road trip from NY to CA that I am taking in March. I actually got the route plotted and some of the hotels booked. Now to figure out where I want to visit while I am not driving. And start getting her stuff together to pack in the car.

So glad you guys are back!!

  3. ev says:

    EV: Thanks for telling me!

  5. jenifer says:

Yep, you’ve got the book link on the home page, but not on the individual blog post pages. For a minute there, I thought I was going blind!

  6. Barb Ferrer says:

See, this is what I get for being a Luddite about Twitter, because I so would have invited you to guest blog rather than posting a lame meme that I didn’t even realize had a wretched misspelling in it because I was operating on four hours of sleep and holy crapdamn could this sentence run on anymore?

    Anyhow.

You can come blog in my house anytime.

  7. Keira says:

    I can’t access http://keirasoleore.blogspot.com/ – it keeps asking for Twitter API information and won’t accept mine… 😛

  8. ev says:

Don’t feel bad Barb. I’m in the same boat.

YW Sarah! At least I know it’s not me. Cause if it screws up on a computer, it usually is me!

  9. rebyj says:

Potential bug.. I can’t log in.

  11. Throwmearope says:

I’m on Mozilla and I am getting quite a few glitches.  The Contact Us and FAQ line is blacked out in a random and spotty fashion.  Don’t you hate the first day or so after an upgrade?

  12. tricia says:

I’m using Chrome, and I’m having the same random-and-spotty problem as Throwmearope.

    But, whoa, were you busy.

  13. Eunice says:

*hugs monitor and cries Tears O’ Joy ™* Oh Smart Bitches is back, I’m so happy!

  14. Kwana says:

You were a busy little bee. But it was a mighty fun tour! Thanks so much for stopping by my place. It’s never seen that type of hot quickie action! winks. Come on back anytime.

I hope Baba is feeling better and I’m so happy SBTB is back up and running.

Sorry about that. I need to fix that Twitter cookie thing. Bad that it won’t let you cancel out of that and move on to reading the blog. Thanks for the heads-up.

  16. J Davis says:

I’m on Safari and having the same issues with the link bar.

    Yay! SBTB back in action.

  17. Silver James says:

I’m on Firefox and not having any problem but I thought I was going to have to buy stock in Pepto Bismol or Mary Kay in order to get my fix of pink. Welcome back, bitches! *CLING*

    Word! Length25….Nawwww….

  18. Gennita Low says:

Sheesh.  Okay, come to my blog and write my proposal.  In return I’ll send you a pair of pink hotpants with the word Smart Bitch sewed on the back cheeks.

  19. Leah says:

Who are you, that you can do all those things with a sick kid!?!  I’m amazed (and envious!)!

I did the ruptured eardrum last year.  My 4 yr old son kept crying that his ear hurt.  I did the motrin/tylenol thing (no mean feat, as he hates taking medicine), but he kept on crying.  I couldn’t do anything else, so I was frustrated and, ok, a little annoyed.  Finally, I sat down to cuddle him on the couch, and eventually, his sobs subsided.  That’s when I saw the fluid pouring out of his ear.  We hurried off to the doctor, who told me his eardrum had ruptured (and probably didn’t hurt as bad once it did).  I felt like such a jerk for being irritated with him.  Yet another “bad mommy moment” for the books!

Welcome back!  This website (and a few others) provides me with much-needed adult conversation!  I missed you!

  20. darlynne says:

I was lost, plain and simple, without SBTB. If DA had gone away, too, well, that would have been withdrawal on an epic scale. Very glad you’re back and pink.

  21. sadieloree says:

Glad you’re back! Looks like you were busy!

    spamword: section69 – ah, how I missed these…. *g*

  22. Yay you’re back!  Off to check out the book tab.

Um… could someone explain to the loser in the corner what all the spamwords and weird codes are?

  23. ms bookjunkie says:

    @BHB

If you’re not logged on and you comment, before you can submit your wisdom for all to read you have to type a word (which is found beneath the commenting form) into a box. From what I understand, this is so that the site will not be overcome with with spam about enhancing your sexual experience and growing your penis etc. And sometimes, the words are just eerily appropriate for the comment…

For example, my spamword right now is use21. -No thanks, I’m doing just fine without a penis, I don’t need to use anything (much less 21 anythings) to grow a penis…

  24. @ms B.

    *Hits self on forehead*  Thanks!

change43 – I am now changed for the better – forty three times is the number of whacks I shall give myself with ye olde wet noodle to make the learnin’ and the changin’ sink in!
