I think Marjorie M. Liu has probably been doing the pee pee dance with excitement at this weekend’s ComiCon and she can finally tell us why:
…today it was finally announced at Comic Con that after NYX ends this month I’ll be working on a new ongoing X-Men series for Marvel called DARK WOLVERINE. I’m co-writing with Daniel Way.
Holy crapping damn, that is kick ass! Way to go! Liu was creator Way’s first choice to co-author, and while I am not a comic person I am so excited about this. Congrats to Liu on a rocking new collaboration.
In other fun news, Leslie Kelly has SBTB to thank for a few lost hours filled with Neil Patrick Harris and musical hilarity:
Just had to write to you because you guys are the ones who first turned me on to Dr. Horrible. I loved it, my whole family loved it, and hubby bought me the dvd for Christmas. We just got around to watching it (looooovee that music so much, Neil Patrick Harris is genius…saw him on stage and absolutely adore him.) Anyway, you MUST MUST get it and watch/listen to “Commentary: The Musical.” It’s a 45 minute musical commentary sung by the cast and crew and is utterly hilarious. Every song and line matches up to what’s going on in the move that’s playing in the background. (We were roaring, and just to show what musical geeks we are, hubby and I both said, in unison, “That’s so Sondheim!” in one part.)
Anyway, just had to tell you and to thank you for highlighting it on SBTB. It has truly become one of my favorite musicals (and believe me, I know my musicals.
)

I thought I loved Dr. Horrible the most, then I listened to Commentary: The Musical, and it really is a toss-up. Nathan Fillion singing “I’m Better Than Neil” (and slipping in a ‘Joey Buchanan’ reference) just totally made my millennium.
I never watched Buffy, now must get all of it and bow down to all that is brilliant about Josh Whedon. And his totally fricking cool brothers. Including Zach, who will kill everyone for making him do a musical. BWAAAAHAAAA!
Oh man, I’d love this. I started to watch it when it was free and didn’t finish it, you know, foolishly expecting I had forever! I’ve been hanging on by a thread this whole time in anticipation. (Not really but it sounds good.)
Oh me me me! And extra props because I love Leslie Kelly (like a only-moderately-deranged fan girl. No stalker worries or anything.)
Oooh, I downloaded this from I Tunes, but now wish I had just waited for the DVD so I could having the singing commentary.
Oh my god, I love that show so much. I have turned numerous friends onto the show, and at Dragoncon this year, I went to the sing-a-long panel. Fabulous!

Dr. Horrible is awesome and I had no idea they had musical commentary to make it more awesome.
I knew it was out on dvd but haven’t gotten it yet. maybe I won’t have to??
However, I will have to make sure my comic guy knows to add the new one to my monthly pick ups. i wouldn’t miss it for the world!! I think it is so exciting, cause i love my comics!!
I’m given to understand that a musical acquaintance of mine made the DVD’s “Evil League of Evil” roster of applicants; I therefore need a copy of the DVD in order to properly appreciate his diabolical evil genius. And as for musicals, I recommend Tom’s “The Last Hero On Earth”, on CD; there’s also material on the above-mentioned Web site from a prospective Rocky Horror Muppet Show. (I promise, I’m not making any of this up….)

WOW!! Congratulations Marjorie!!! I’m a bit of a comic book nutter, so I am simply bowled over by how bad-ass that is.
And as for Dr. Horrible- epic battles of humorous quote-posting have been waged in the name of Joss Whedon, and a 45-minute commentary might be just the ammunition that I need to win the war.
