This is a website that my nerds love. ( I have a collection ya know)
Lots of alternative history and well known authors. The author list on the left was enough to make them squee!

Good link. One i have bookmarked and recommend everyone to bookmark too.

None of the authors on their surprised me- I have read most of them. On the other hand, having an ebook of them to take with mne will be nice!!

    Thanks!!

The Baen free books program is one of the oldest and best around.  There are some real classics there.  I have a not-so-secret crush on Eric Flint, for one thing! David Drake is also a fine writer, in my experience.

If you like sci-fi, I also strongly recommend a classic of the genre, James Hogan’s Inherit the Stars.  And of course if you like lighter fantasy stuff, there’s Mercedes Lackey.  You can usually count on her for some romance.

I started out with sci-fi/fantasy long before I did romance. Asimov was my first love at age 8 or 9 followed by Anne McCaffrey. I have everything Misty has written. I hope to get to the convention in NYC in Feb where she and her hubby are the GOH’s.
    I have also read Inherit.

Eric Flint was at our convention this year. Nice guy.

I knew about the free library but never used it until I got the ereader. I didn’t know about the free ebooks to disabled readers which is so awesome.

I highly recommend David Weber’s Honor Harrington Series.  One of my favorites, with quite a bit of romance.  Baen’s Free Library is great, but they also sell their ebooks for very reasonable prices in my opinion.

Yeah for Baen!  I got hooked on some new series through the ebooks on the website.  More publishers should make ebooks of the first book in a series available at a greatly reduced cost.  It would certainly spark a lot of sales of the subsequent books in the series in either print or ebooks.

How great would it be to carry around some classic great reads on your ebook reader for those “comfort reads”.  You know…you’re not feeling like reading any of the books in your to be read pile but feel like reading something good, or you’re under the weather and can’t be bothered to focus 100 % on a new read so you pick an old favorite to re-read.
