Introducing Dear Bitches, Smart Authors: the Podcast

Sarah’s too close to the phone, Jane is driving, and we’re recording our conversation. Want to listen in?

This is the feed to the podcast and you can click on this link to add it to iTunes.  We can’t curse on the podcast due to iTunes content restrictions. (Dammit fuck).

Feel free to give us content suggestions, tips on how to do this whole thing better, or general wtf-ery comments.  It’s all welcome because a) we are new to this and b) we don’t really know what we are doing so the wtf comments are probably all valid.  The email address for the podcast is sbj.contest @ gmail.com.

The challenge of time continuity is epic fun in the “What?” department. We reference Dahl’s book and the Save the Contemporary as “in progress” because this was recorded before we launched the contest – and we talk about layoffs “this week” when in fact publishing is closed for the holidays. Whee! Newbie errors, we has them!

As Jane says, we are the picture of amateurs. Come watch us grow! Or, listen, as the case may be.

We’re going to be making this a regular feature in 2009, so let us know what you think. This podcast is brought to you by the letters W, T, and F, and by Morgan from Miss Media Productions .

I’m a podcast junkie, so this sounds fantastic.  But…

I just downloaded the file and as I’m not with iTunes, I can’t play it.  Is it possible to have a plain, old mp3 version?

  2. SB Sarah says:

.m4a won’t float your boat? Hmm.

    try this one?

  3. Kerry D. says:

Got it and it plays.  Thanks very much.  I really appreciate it.

Not knowing anything about podcasts this was big whoa-cool for me, I loved it.

On the Windows Media player when Jane talks it’s all purple & pastel floating clouds …. when Sarah talks it’s a color-wheel exploding.

I am partial (very) to the hairy sheriff and the innumerable Dukes and the shifting animals … but I also like contemporary romances and still fear that it’s not the economy that will be the problem for those authors but the publishers who are racing to the edge of the cliff with their endless supply of ‘shut off your lights and clip your coupon’ books. Pathetic self-fulfilling prophecy and not a business plan.

Did I miss the shoe recommendations?

I’m waiting for the serial killer dukes.

JoanneL.- I am just learing about pod casts and how to add them (on a regular basis, instead of every few weeks) to my ipod. It’s always amusing. My daughter gets frustrated when I ask for help.

I haven’t even attempted RSS feeds.

spamword- required74. I required 74 hours of tutorial on my ipod. I think I need 74 more.

  7. ev says:

Oh, I forgot to mention I did dl it and will attempt to listen to it on the 7 hour flight to CA on Thursday.

New Year’s Day is a day for new beginnings right? So this whole thing with the kid going 3000 miles away that day to go to college is a good sign, right?

    Right????????????
