Friday Videos Wish You a Hoffy Holiday

When Hubby and I got married, our first dance was Blue Suede’s Hooked on a Feeling. For that reason alone, this particular version makes me dance like a fool. The addition of Hoff goodness only makes it more campy, more awesome, more… surreal. What is UP with the snowboarding on a toboggan?

And why is he in a fjord?

Ah, forget it. I should not question the Hoff, nor his majesty.

What, that wasn’t enough? Here, this might kill you.

Have a Merry Hoffmus and a Hoffy Hannukah!

    Ouch.

Please pass me the bleach so that I may remove those images from my eyeballs.

I like the high quality special effects of his first one – I couldn’t tell at all that he wasn’t really in those places, doing those things.

In the second one, I especially like when he’s in the hammock with his stubble, and how he keeps making eyes at the camera.  You can practically hear him thinking, “Oh yeah baby.  I’m one sexy bitch.”

Or would that be a hofftastic bitch?

  2. Elizabeth says:

Oh, man, I didn’t need to be reminded that this video existed. I thought I’d scrubbed out all memory of it years ago.

  3. The first thing I thought was “He’s pining for the fjord. . .”  Then I watched the damn thing, and I thought “??????”

Nothing says loving like dachunds next to a river.  And random Warlock II flying scenes.  And ooga chaka.

  4. ev says:

I was wondering about the daschunds by the river too. And whatever those flying things were…

I played both of them at the same time. That was interesting…

  5. Ocy says:

No, I think the first one killed me quite adequately.  About the point he started flying, I started snorting.  Then when he pulls a random fish out of the arctic air, my husband was gone, too.

  6. Melissandre says:

Okay, I think I’ve pried my eyebrows out of my hair now.  They shot up there within the first few minutes of the first video, and refused to come back down.  I kept longing for the video from a couple weeks ago, where the singer rides around on horseback while swinging from pirate ships.  I was too busy trying to figure out the story in that one to be truly horrified.  No such luck here.

  7. jude says:

Euww! Euww! Euww!  Make it/them go away…..!!!!!!

  8. kittyfischer says:

I can finally see why the Germans love him.  Daschunds + river + flying angelic children = ach du leiber!

  9. amy lane says:

Oh for the love of sanctified carp… no wonder there’s no comments… that just leaves me damned speechless… (ooga choka ooga chokka… I mean, what in the hell IS that?)

  10. amy lane says:

And, uhm, what in the hell was that thing with the goggles… anyone?  Anyone?

  11. And, uhm, what in the hell was that thing with the goggles… anyone?  Anyone?

I was wondering the same thing… One of the sand people from the first Star Wars, maybe?

  12. Cassie says:

Okay, I’m probably the only MSTie here, but I thought of the flying scene in Pumaman while I was watching the first Hoff video…(Pumaman, he flies like a moron!)

Did anybody else see that Mystery Science Theater episode?

    *crickets chirping*

Anyway, funny!  And scary.  Mostly scary, I think.

  13. Julie says:

Ok, now I’m scared. I’m going to have nightmares tonight.I had to mute it for fear of bleeding ears, but I wasn’t fast anough.

  14. delphine says:

Was anybody else sort of thinking the Hoff’s hunter-character would whip around with that spear and hurl it at his flying-in-a-bad-tux character?

That would have made more sense than the fish or the dachshunds.

  15. Kirstin says:

I love that episode!  I had to watch the video again and imagine him as Pumaman. Now, I’m just a little more horrified.

  16. pippy says:

the ooga chaka is what realliy got me…I mean, it never occured to me to join ooga chaka with a love song. I guess that is why movie people make the big bucks.
