Talk about chutzbah! Wow. Stupid is as stupid does, I guess.

  2. *Wow*  Makes me think of the recent Robot Chicken: Empire Strikes back. “There’s do and then there’s f***ing up royal. YOU are f***ing up royal.”  That’s no way to get a book published.  Oy.

This is like one of those stories I tell about my students who try to pull one over on me, but when I look at a time-stamp, or see that an administrator did not sign their note, catch them full in their lie.

    At least it was entertaining!

  4. Elyssa says:

Wow. That’s so boggling, and so very, very stupid of him to do. At least Diana Fox caught him out, and I doubt that he’ll do this again. Or at least you would think he learned this lesson. But you never know when it comes to being stupid.

  5. It never fails to amaze me what lengths people will go to. My favorite is sending in a synopsis that says something like, if you want to see how the book ends, you’ll have to read it first.

Uh – if you ever want to get published, quit acting like you’re in kindergarten. 🙂

Wow. I wonder what it’s like to clang when you walk? ‘Cause that’s some serious brass.

  7. Tabithaz says:

I can’t decide whether this guy has too much in the way of balls or two little in the way of brain.  Probably some combination of the two.  Could there be a correlation?  Certainly seems to fit for every bad relationship I’ve had.

  8. Tabithaz says:

Gack, that was supposed to be “too little in the way of brain.”  Memo to self: learn to spell.

Spamword: single68.  My back started hurting just thinking about it.

Um…wow! Stupid is too nice a word for that one!

I read one other really stupid author thingy a month or two ago and wish I could remember what agent’s blog it was on, but then, I can’t remember half the time what I had for dinner last night so just remembering the story is a huge leap for me!

Someone actually stopped by their office and personally dropped off their ms and because the receptionist didn’t know and the person was convincing that it had been requested, she accepted it.

Those are brass ones, but I think this has to fall in the same category!

    *shakes head*

  10. Stupid says:

Yeah, I’ve totally seen the “as requested, here is my book” ploy tried before too—I thought I had seen (or at least heard about) pretty much everything before, but the fake request was a new twist. I guess the fact that there are still new crazy things I haven’t come across yet keeps life interesting, though.

Am I the only one who thinks that dude may have been pissed off, and that there was a virus in the .doc attachment instead of sample chapters?  That this was his stupid idea of getting revenge?
