Ok, Enough Teasing

Enough teasing. We’re ridiculously amused by our cover, and it’s about time we showed it to you, so, you ready?

It’s a work of art, a book cover… well, really it’s visual game we call Find the Hidden Phalli with your hosts, Sarah, Candy, and Touchstone/Fireside.

The cover of the Smart Bitch Book, Beyond Heaving Bosoms: The Smart Bitches’ Guide to Romance, due out 14 April 2009, isn’t at Amazon yet (sorry folks) so this (and our email inbox) is the only place you can find it, and a few other hidden images.

  1. J.C. Wilder says:

Cover – fab cover, I just want to know if the chick is pulling down her skirt or pulling it UP. 🙂

Kelli – oh for heaven’s sake. A stoke is not caused by one traumatic incident – its usually caused by a blood clot or a lifetime of high blood pressure.

Blaming the SB’s for her illness makes as much sense as blaming her readers – all that pressure to produce more books could cause more potential damage than a public spanking.

My verify word is length89…wow, the hero is THAT BIG?

  2. Alyssa Day says:

I absolutely love it; also pre-ordered it.  Also am very amused that when I clicked on your name on the amazon site, it pulled up a book by Oliver Wendell Holmes – one of my *other* heroes.

  3. Nora Roberts says:

~but the plural of zero should be zeroes (with an e), at least according to this. ~

Actually, the plural is correct either way. Personally, if I’m pluralizing zero the noun, I do zeroes. The verb, I leave off the ‘e’.

    I have no idea why.

  4. Miri says:

I have the link tucked into my wish list file, I have the date marked on my calendar! This is going to be so awesome, I can’t wait!
About the cover: The headboard looks like a time lapse image of an erection, but of course you knew that did’nt you! I can’t decide yet if it’s accending or decending though.

  5. Ashley says:

Nora Roberts, I am going to start reading your books just because I love the way you replied to Kelli.

  6. Bev Stephans says:

I was going to say the headboard looked like various stages of penile engorgement but I like Miri’s time-lapse photography better.  That’s why I’m not a writer….can’t come up with this good stuff.

Nora, thank you for blowing Kelli off.  She got exactly what she deserved.

Sarah and Candy, awesome cover.  I absolutely love it!

  7. Arethusa says:

Oh my god, you guys, there’s a penis on her leg! That + butt plug vase + Nora Roberts cover quote (woooooo!!!) = cover full of win! Can’t wait to read it.

  8. krsylu says:

When I saw the headboard, I immediately thought, “Sperm!”

  9. Moth says:

There’s not enough man-titty. I expected better from you bitches. (;P)

  10. rebyj says:

I’m sorry, didn’t mean to start anything w/ Edward’s fans. She’s professionally a joke so I joke about her. I have no interest in her personally as I am not one of her fans but hold no ill wishes or anything, I hope she heals from her snark induced stroke.

Now,back to hollering WHOOOTS at the book cover and release details!!!!

  11. Awesome cover! And a Nora Roberts cover quote! WIN!

I think the cover is perfect. Charming, retro, not embarrassing to read in public, and a perfect conversation starter. It sort of reminds me of one of those old movie posters (I haven’t had the privilege to see romance novels of this ‘retrotude’). Anyway, congratulations! I am so looking forward to getting my hands on this book…

Joining choir. **singing** I love Nora Roberts!  (. . .And I totally loved The Pagan Stone as I glommed it this weekend. Now I have to go back and reread for more enjoyment.)

  12. Karibelle says:

    Love the cover!

    Love Nora Roberts!

Love seeing idiots put in their place!

    Yep.  FULL of win!

  13. Anony Miss says:

I hope there’s a step-back (that’s what they’re called, right? the foldover dowhats?) with more ‘typical’ cover snarkage, because there’s so much they didn’t snark – o faces, bodices themselves, mysterious third arms, “ow you’re on my hair” and of course, no unbuttoned tucked in shirts.

I only started reading this blog because of the cover snark, you see… 🙂

  14. sara says:

YOU GOT BLURBED BY NORA OMG!

  15. Rustybelle says:

Is the penis in her dress? It starts in the crease between his fingers and ends at his wrist.

    Or I’m just seeing things.

Also, I’m going to have to try and work, “Is the penis in her dress?” into a real life conversation.

  16. Patty says:

Joining choir**singing**“I love Nora Roberts…love love love”
Slam dunk on the place putting, Ms. Roberts.

  17. Patty says:

    OH..and I found it!!
Painted into the bed sheet…upside down…near his elbow.
See it? Really, it was there a minute ago.

  18. Gwen says:

The bottom part of the candlestick, just above the base.  Little stubby stiffy.  Cute, actually.

  19. Ashley says:

hahaha my sister just said he looks like he’s holding a dead body.  she cover snarked the snarkers! Lol

  20. Kelli says:

To:  J.C. Wilder,  I’m glad you have a degree in medicine.  She didn’t have a blood clot or a history of high blood pressure.  She hadn’t been sick at all.

Ask Sarah what was said to her at the Historical Research seminar by Bertrice Small at RT last year when she mentioned Cassie to her.

To:  Nora Roberts, I would rather be an idiot than a complete stuck up, snobby asshole.  I have met a lot of authors and I have to say you take the prize in being a snob.  Your lack of personality comes out a little too strong.

  21. Kelli says:

And by the way if everyone thinks Mrs. Edwards did something wrong why are they still publishing her books and have started reprinting her old ones?

  22. kitaan says:

    Kelli –

Well, the Gor books are still available in print, as are many RL Stine and Christopher Pike books, as well as the rather…suspect-in-originality works of a certain Ms. Clare…therefore, being a published author is not necessarily a certification of quality work.

Furtehrmore, Nora Roberts has more class at the tip of her pinky than you – a lurker, a troll and a general all-round bonehead – coudl ever hope to muster.

Strokes sometimes have utterly no prior warning; indeed much of the time they seem to come out of the blue. it might do you well to crack a book or peruse wikipedia, at the very least, before yu run amok bleating that the evil witchy bad-nasty-wrong jive-turkey voodoo’ majickz of this board’s ~*negative energy vibes!*~ caused an elderly woman to have a stroke.

At seventy, her age puts her in the risk category. It’s that simple; the human body runs down and has issues when it ages. We did not voodoo-curse her by discussing her plagiarism (and colonialist, prejudiced attitudes toward native americans/aboriginal people); indeed she’s lucky she pulled the scam off for as long as she did.

In this age of the interpipes and the myriad communities thereupon, it’s hard to get away with being foolish.

Case in point: Ms. Edwards, and you.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stroke a resource, for your benefit.
