It’s Not Too Late!

There’s a few hours left in today from where I sit, and folks in Hawaii can party for a few more hours yet to celebrate National Punctuation Day!

Hooray for commas and booyah for semicolons.

Thanks to DBN for the link.

    Would you like an ear worm to go with your punctuation?

    Forgive me. I’m the victim of motherhood and happy kids that sing. lol

    Hey, I like semicolons!

    The semicolon is my favorite punctuation mark; it is sadly neglected.

    My least favorite is the apostrophe, but that’s because so many people don’t understand its correct use!

    I did not know about National Punctuation Day.  I would have celebrated it in my classes!  I need another holiday this fall, since Talk Like a Pirate Day fell on a Friday, when I have no classes.  Aarrrgh, and shiver me timbers.

    Oh dear, I think we broke their server.  If you get a mention on THIS cool blog, you’d better be prepared for the traffic.

  4. I was desperately disappointed that Ye Olde Smart Bitches missed National Talk Like a Pirate Day.  It was last Friday.  Anderson Cooper said, “Argh!” and I moaned inappropriately.
    And somewhere in my memory bank, I seem to recall the SBs have always celebrated in a Big Way.
    Now this…Punctuation Day? In lieu of Talk Like A Pirate Day?
    Tsk, tsk.  Ye’ll walk the plank, matey!

    Wasn’t it John Irving’s Garp who was initially attracted to someone when he realized she knew how to use semi-colons correctly? Seriously, a man who understands punctuation? Huge turn-on.

    @Stephanie:
    I celebrated International Talk Like a Pirate Day, and posted some very useful advice here: Ten Things You Need to Know When You Marry a Pirate

    Pardon the interruption, and back to regular programming.

    The National Punctuation Day link now has bandwidth and is working. Yesterday my comma broke. Was it trying to tell me something?
