I am trying out Akismet on the Bitches today to see if it can put a stop to some of the irritating as hell comment spam we’ve been attracting. However, if this interferes with your ability to comment, please let me know via email (sarah @ smartbitchestrashybooks.com) and let me know if you were a logged in user or not, and what happened when you tried to say howdy.

Regarding Akismet, if you make more than $500/month from the blog, they ask for a $5/month “pro-blogger” subscription: http://akismet.com/commercial/ Not b.ad for the service, I think, and apparently if you pay for the service, you get a different lookup channel that is higher-priority, faster and more robust.
