Romance, Politics, Sports, Guys, and Texas

So what do the following things have in common:

Sports and Dude Talk Radio
Houston Texas
Romance Novels
Politics
Hillary Clinton

The answer?

Me.

Commence freak out!

At 1:30 eastern, 12:30 central, or thereabouts, I will be on 1560 AM, The Game on the Ken Hoffman show. Hoffman’s blog is pretty cool, sort of a latter-day Dave Barry, with an emphasis on fast food reviews. Apparently one can listen online. I’m not sure if I could have the courage to listen to myself. I hope I do not do the verbal equivalent of tripping on a chair and flying headlong into a wall and knocking the pictures down.

Why sports talk dude radio in Texas? Good question! Based on this entry, and the powers of Google-Fu, David and Ken want my opinion on why people hate Hillary. I guess they want a Bitch to comment on the idea of whether being a Bitch incites hatred, or whether the hatred was already there, and “bitch” is the best title to file it under. Either way. I shall endeavor not to make a complete cake of myself.

Okay, I admit to being jealous. I adore Ken Hoffman. One of the worst things about no longer getting the Chronicle delievered is that I don’t get to read his Sunday column anymore. He’s a really funny guy and has done a lot to help animals get adopted.
    Have fun!

I don’t know who these guys are, but I did listen in for a few minutes.  I heard a teaser for Sarah’s appearance—the main voice said that he invited her to be on the show because she wrote a column about why people hate Hillary, and he himself hates Hillary but doesn’t know why.  (The other guy who was on at the time said that HE hates Hillary because she wants “to cut and run in the war on terror” and because he thinks universal health care is a terrible idea.  No comment.)

  3. SB Sarah says:

I heard that too. I had this sinking feeling when I heard it. I wrote a column asking why people hate Hillary, and the discussion was worth gold, but it’s not like my column had an answer. “Because she’s a bitch” is so not an answer – especially around here.

All I can think is: batter up.

Ken Hoffman is pretty nifty; I think you can read his Sunday columns online… I try to find his articles when I can.

  5. SonomaLass says:

I think you made some good points, SB Sarah.  The guys continued talking about the gender-based double standard after you were on, and they seemed to get some of that.  Of course they still said that the Democrats need a joint ticket, and that Obama needs to “hold his nose” and ask Clinton to be his VP, while she needs to “stop being a bitch” and accept, so I guess only SOME of it got through.

    You were awesome!

  6. SB Sarah says:

Thanks SonomaLass! I really appreciate that – I couldn’t listen after I got off the phone, so I’m glad you did. Thanks for the feedback. You are equally awesome.

  7. KL says:

I’m dying to hear how it went….

  8. Sarabeth says:

Is there a audio clip? Can we of too many children get to hear it?

  9. EmmyS says:

Karmyn, you can see all of his columns back to 1998 here:

  10. EmmyS says:

Whoops, never mind. Those are ONLY columns from 1998. Strange.
