How Much Was It?

According to the auction page, Brenda Novak’s Diabetes Auction raised over $252,300.00. Holy crapping damn, folks. That’s awesome.

Big ups to Ms. Novak. Now I have to start thinking creatively for items to donate next year.

Maybe you could cover-snark books of the bidder’s choosing, any genre, any vintage. *g*

Now if only there were that kind of auction for autism and other spectrum disorders….

I can’t believe I didn’t think about asking my young adult author friend if she would like to donate until the last minute—and her auction of a critique of a full YA manuscript went for almost $400! And she told her agent who did a YA partial for a one day auction that went close to $500. Next year I’ll make sure to tell everyone about donating rather than just donating things myself. One of the funnest things that I did was auction off “Having your name in DARK MAGIC” and “having your name in THE FIRST SIN.” Both winners have such unusual names that it’s really cool.

I think I remembered at the last minute, too, Chey. And I was stunned at how much our two items yielded. With some forethought, I bet we can come up with some badass fundraising items.

    Mmm. Plotting begins… now.

I won all three of my auctions!!! There were so many awesome things to bid on it was hard to restrain my self to pick only three. I can’t wait until next year.
