On the Road to the Final Four

Vote!If you haven’t noticed, DA and SBTB were merged in hostile friendly takeover which took the form of a book against book tournament. We slated 64 books in 8 categories which netted 8 winners. (imagine that 8 winners in 8 categories, we are like math geniuses or geni or whatever).

The current leader is Cecilia T. You can see the whole slate of brackets here. We held a second chance pool and the current leader is Marci S. The entire slate of the 2nd chance brackets are here.

The Elite Eight was winnowed down to the Final Four with only one number one seeding surviving: High Noon by Nora Roberts. On Saturday, April 5, SB and DA will feature the Final Four battle between dark house and thirteen seed, The Rest Falls Away by Colleen Gleason against the Historical favorite, number 3 seed, The Serpent Prince by Elizabeth Hoyt

On the other side of the bracket is a death match battle between Fairyville by Emma Holly (also a 13 seed) and the prohibitive favorite, High Noon by Nora Roberts.

Since we've made it to the Final Four, we have some prizes to award! To the authors whose books achieved Final Four status, we have graphics – woo hoo! And hot pink bad ass ostrich feather quill pens. Please right-click and save the graphic, and paste that bad boy all over your websites. Hey, put it on your next book cover. Nothing says “take me seriously” like a tournament named “DA BWAHA” drenched in flaming hot pink, right?

I will be contacting you to ask for shipping info for your flaming pink feather of power, but if you'd like to drop me an email (sarah @ smartbitchestrashybooks.com) before I get to you, feel free. Congratulations!

Vote early. Vote often. Click on the links to our sponsors to let them know that you actually are paying attention to the contest. It’s for a good cause (not really, but the words “good cause” usually gets people to do things that they wouldn’t ordinarily do).

Congrats authors, those are some great books!  Will anyone be brave enough to include the pink award on their next publication?  We’ll be watching.

Hearty congratulations to the final four!

And I’m doing better in the original bracket than I am the mulligan bracket. That figures. ;P *snorfle*

I’ve got to shake my pompoms for LaNora! I picked her to win but I’ve added the other three to my Must Be Read List! At this point, everyone’s a winner – writers and readers alike.

Holy Crap!!  I was so happy when I got to play along with the second chance pool, I didn’t even look at my bracket.  In fact, I didn’t think my bracket was submitted because my browser crashed.  This is so much fun!

I gotta admit, of the Final Four, I’ve only read High Noon.  I had to pick La Nora for the win because she is AWESOME.  But, I already have the other 3 on my TBR pile and a whole bunch of others that I’m going to be grabbing as soon as I can.

Saturday is going to be fun!  Thanks for letting me play.
