Colin Firth on The Daily Show

Thanks to Melissa, who sent me the link to this marvelous bit of Colin-footage:

Melissa asks: “I wonder if he works for the person who makes the succubus rings?”

Sarah asks: “Exactly how wrong is the amount of time I spent wondering whether the photos of Colin’s Colin were online already, and whether I wanted to pollute my search history by looking for them? 80% wrong? 90% wrong? Utterly, completely, and torrentially wrong? How does one quantify that amount of wrong?”

I don’t think I’ve laughed this hard in forever, if ever.  Priceless.
Wonder if they’ll take Mastercard. :)

I’m really glad I saw this.  He seemed so – dare I say it – boring in that charity auction video on ebay.

This however… swoon.  Did they say when that movie’s coming out?

Time to get out the Pride and Prejudice DVD again.

problem71 No, I don’t think this is going to be a problem, once of 71 times… rofl

I am massively excited about Colin Firth in the Mamma Mia movie. It looks fantastic, and he’s so dreamy, and in all likelihood, he’ll be singing…

    Spam word: Both26

Both Colin Firth AND Pierce Brosnan singing? My heart be still.

I had to immediately forward this to my husband.  I’ve been on a “You must love Colin Firth campaign” for years with him. He just doesn’t get it.  I think he doesn’t want to get it. He finds it funny that I go ga-ga over him and he wants to know why is it sexy when he dives into a disgusting old algae filled pond.

He was reading a book in the same room the last time I watched Pride and Prejudice and I saw him listening to the dialogue while pretending to read (his head and lips move in reaction to the dialogue when he watches TV, it’s disturbing) and he actually started watching during the bathtub scene. I was flabbergasted. He actually did not shush me when I proceeded to explain the etiquette of the day to him. I am usually dismissed with the comment “Do we have to watch your Tea and Scones movies?” and he makes fun of my Jane Austen action figure regularly. I’m hoping to hook him with the Jon Stewart clip, we’ll see…….

If you google “Colin Firth’s penis” this morning, it comes up with all sorts or articles about last night’s interview. No fun. Nothing to see here.

I knew someone would do it!
Oh, and is it wrong that I scared the bejeezus out of my first-born with my very loud, very sinister laughing?
    No? Okay then!

    SonomaLass says:

Helen Hunt is fantastic in it, Matthew Broderick is fantastic; it doesn’t have Hugh Grant in it

Oh good, I might convince my darling British DP to see this film with me—“no Hugh Grant” is a big plus where he’s concerned.

Sara, and of course Melissa, this was HILARIOUS and a fab way to start my morning on the internet.  And thanks, Carrie Lofty, for doing the Google check.  Nasty job, but someone had to do it. ;-)

My coworkers really want to know what I’m laughing about today.

I really expected someone to find the pic.  Wouldn’t that be the true HABO????

Exactly how wrong . . .  How does one quantify that amount of wrong?

    So wrong, it’s right.

Jane Austen action figure?  What?  Where do I get one of those?

well, there is the jane austen action figure:
    http://www.mcphee.com/items/11513.html
available from mcphee or, possibly better, the unemployed philosophers guild Jane Austen Doll (or magnetic finger puppet)

    they’re both pretty fun.

I read something recently … He said, “Helen Hunt told me I can’t NOT be charming; I said, you haven’t talked to my wife.”

    (Roughly.)

    Tina C. says:

I waited until my office-mate was out before I clicked on the video clip—more because I didn’t want her to know I was watching a video clip instead of working than anything.  Good thing I waited because I just guffawed when Jon Stewart said, “if your penis had arms, it could have went like this: *puts hands in front of his face while squealing in a rather girly way* “NOOOOOO!!”.
That was just funny!  (Although, Colin might have preferred imagining his penis with a more manly, James Earl Jones-baritone voice.)

Is it possible that Colin Firth is even more adorable and attractive in person than in film? He has a lovely sense of humor, a cute laugh, and is just plain swoon-worthy!

Too bad Helen Hunt is in the movie…I might have been more excited. But I will see it for the Firthness alone!  That clip from the movie was priceless.

Mine is the McPhee version. Might I add that it is a PORTABLE writing desk for even MORE action.

    Esri Rose says:

Don’t you love his yuk-yuk laugh?

Now if I’d been able to do a video interview of Colin Firth’s penis instead of just the incubus ring, I’d have really had something. Especially if it had arms.

    Esri Rose says:

I probably shouldn’t miss this opportunity to put a link to the ring-interview video.

It’s surprising how difficult it is to find a voice actor who sounds like Firth. Impossible, apparently, as I found out.

    fiveandfour says:

I made an assertion awhile back that Colin Firth is like international waters or the moon – no one person can or should claim him because that’d really just be unfair to the rest of humanity.

But now that it just may be possible for even more of him to be…known…than ever before, I’m thinking this assertion should be made into one of those cross border treaties or something.  Try to fend off any impending wars or riots with everyone agreeing in advance that we’ll all keep a little distance so as not to ruin our international treasure.

This is one actor I never had the hots for. Mainly because my second child was delivered by a dr of the same name ..something about a dude being elbow deep in ones lady parts and pulling out a 8 pound baby just stamps out any hotness.
I’d be yelling OH COLIN OH COLIN MORE EPIDURAL MEDS! YES YES YES!!
    Funny clip though!

    Cathy says:

I saw a preview of Mamma Mia! a few weeks ago. I am so sorry to tell you that Colin Firth is better as eye candy than as a singer. Pierce Brosnan too. Meryl Streep and Christine Baranski are both excellent though, as are the two actors who play the young couple.

It’s a fun movie, and worth seeing, except ABBA songs do tend to get stuck in the brain even worse than Heart.

I’m going to go with only 7.5% wrong. I, being a little more geeky, I was going to check to see if the domains had been registered :)

I didn’t think I could like him more than I do….great clip!! Laughed enough my husband looked at me….but he knows about Colin and me.

http://www.colinfirthspenis.com/ is a registered domain and apparently an adult site. I didn’t actually enter for fear of viruses … and the fact that I’m fairly sure there would be no actual Colin Firth penis pics to be found … but mostly fear of viruses … I think …

  22. 22

I confess…it was Colin Firth’s penis that got me here. I’ve loved him since he played the creepy theatre owner in Apartment Zero which I made my husband suffer through last night….doesn’t hold up, but CF is so young and cute that it was worth it. Husband kept saying “this is awful” and I agreed but watched until the bitter end.  Anyway, thanks for the laughs. Fun blog.
