The Internet Is For…Ferrets.

Thanks to Manna, I’ve been wasting a good half hour watching a black footed ferret have a nap at the Smithsonian Zoo.

I’m also ashamed to admit that I’m jealous of the ferret because I personally would love to nap so hard I can wiggle my feet in my sleep. Alas, it is not to be.

Never wake a napping ferret.  Trust me.

  2. Wow, this is oddly addicting.  Much more fun than reading my International Business Transactions text, that’s for damn sure.

One of my roommates in college had a ferret.  She was cute.

I also adopted a black footed ferret last month.  Her picture is proudly displayed on my fridge.

God bless Paul Tolme and his infinite hotness for giving the romance community another thing to love.

  3. That is so weirdly relaxing!

  4. MaryKate says:

OK, said ferret is now licking its…stuff. It’s like ferret porn!

  5. He looks so peaceful.  It’s so sooth—zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  6. Cori says:

Awww… I really better not watch any more of this on four hours sleep. The ferret and I will nap right through class.

  7. Tina says:

Awwwwwwww!  That’s just so adorable!  Okay, so I had to watch for a few minutes to figure out exactly where the head was (at first, it looked like there were 2 ferrets), but still so adorable.  It’s peaceful, like when I’m watching my cat sleep on me and she’s all purry.

young33—not anymore and not any big deal.  When life is good, it doesn’t matter how old you are and when it’s bad, it doesn’t matter either.  Life is good!

It’s twitching and breathing heavily—what do ferrets dream of?

  9. Yvonne says:

I had a pet ferret for years and years. I loved her so much! They are tough to have as pets for a number of reasons. Better to watch them on the interweb.

When they are young they sleep so hard that you can pick them up without waking them. Talk about fun! I miss her…

Great now i’m addicted to watching the ferrets.  Its especially cute in the morning after the keepers clean the nest boxes.  The ferret spends a good fifteen minutes arrangeing bedding matterial and grooming before settling down to sleepy cuteness again *G* and then theres all the OTHER cute animal cams.  I’m fond of the tigers and pandas but I haven’t spied the fishing cats on camera yet

  11. Nina says:

now, i tried the octopus cam and am getting nothing but blackness…unless it’s a black octopus eating licorice in the dark? or else maybe it’s playing in tar?

  12. talpianna says:

That is one fat ferret!  I guess she’s preggers—it does say “nest boxes.”

The octopus has probably just squirted ink at the camera while muttering “Damn paparazzi!”

her17—Do they really have that big a litter?
