Ferrets Really, Really Like Us

In this month’s Defenders of Wildlife newsletter, there’s an article that links to the original Tolme piece from the magazine, but even better: Nora Roberts, Candy, myself, and you guys – the readers of this here blog – were named this month’s “Wildlife Heroes.” Yay! Way to go!

“A Scandalous Tale of Romance Gone Wrong—Prairie Passion?”

    I love it!

(Actually, it’s a better cover than either of the Avon ones…  IJS)

So the PC version of “Smart Bitches” is “Faithful blog readers”?

    LOL Barb!!

Prairie passion should be THE drink of the RT convention in April.

The magazine continues to handle the situation with grace and humor instead of the outrage and lawsuits one would expect now days!

I love how they couldn’t bring themselves to say the name of the blog in question![g]

And a “Prairie Passion” drink sounds fab!  Maybe there should be a recipe contest?

Does one drink a “Prairie Passion” with a side order of Buffalo chips?

    And yeah, we rock!

I’m sure they keep their site G-rated so school classes will visit.

Now that is too cool… What a thank you! And he’s been so cool over the whole deal. He’s a good guy. Cheers!

    That is really, really cool.

Just read my “Defenders of Wildlife” newsletter. I’d heard about the Cassie Edwards flap, but not about all the dough raised in support of Ferrets. Y’all done good.

After reading the lifted passages in the Newsweek article, I wondered why the book’s editor didn’t notice that: (a) the material seemed rather odd, conversation-wise, during the afterglow of sex, and (b) the tone of these phrases in the manuscript didn’t appear out of place in terms of both style and content.

    Barb Ferrer says:

Malcolm, I’m going to venture a guess that by the time the book in question was being edited, the Powers That Be figured it was just a quirk of her particular style.  Especially (if you take the time to slog through the rest of the material in the CE flap) you’ll see that it’s something that appears to have been going on for some time, these passages that were markedly different in style than the rest of her narrative.

It feels good to be a Wildlife Hero!

Damn!  Y’all are in Newsweek!!! That’s the big time!!!

How does one say “HoooDAMN, that rocks!” in ferret?  Squeak snuffle squeakity foot-stamp?

    You forgot “shiver and shake”

I’m new here and just catching up, but I gotta say it… I’m so glad you smart bitches ferreted out the truth! CE’s efforts to weasel out of it were about as weak as her heroine’s protests as she’s about to do the horizontal hoo-hah with one of the ubiquitous passionate savage sorts.

    I LIKE this place!
