Personal Ad Contest: YA Romance edition

That’s right, kids, for this personal ad contest, we’re running a special Jailbait edition—heroine’s only 18, and no, it’s not a historical romance or an old-sk00l Harlequin Romance. First person to correctly shout out the heroine’s name, title and author will receive the rare and fabulous prize of one (1) Smart Bitch aristocratic title, guaranteed 100% inorganic and created solely using sweatshop labor.

Teenage girl with penchant for soft plaid shirts and punk music seeks cute, sensitive, queer-friendly fellow music geek to go on late-night adventures in New York City and help her forget her putz of an ex-boyfriend. In return, I’m willing to be your 15-minute girlfriend and help you forget your manipulative, slutty girlfriend.

Wow – can’t believe I recognized this one.  One day I was browsing the YA section at a book store while my daughter finished choosing something and I idly picked it up from a display table.

I was hooked by about page 2.  Good stuff.

Norah, from Nick & Norah’s Infinte Playlist, by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan. Awesome, awesome book!

I second Molly’s vote.  Seesh, I only know these about once every six months and I get beat to the punch every time.

Yay, Norah! How awesome. I just read “Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist” earlier this week—picked it up after I heard that Michael Cera‘s been cast in the upcoming movie adaptation . . . fingers crossed that this one lives up to its source.

Nick & Norah! LOVED it. Might be one of my all time favorite YA novels. Am a little leery about the new movie. But LOVED this book!

Levithan’s my favorite author, and I’ve never gotten a chance to read this one.

Whee! I never know the answers to the personal ads, so I’m thrilled to have gotten one right, especially since it’s from one of my favorite books of last year!
