Friday Videos: Your Looney Bun is Fine.

I have to confess something: I have a total weakness for Bollywood. I have an entire 8 minute video of a really funky dance sequence featuring Aishwarya Rai on my iPod. If I can tolerate the incredibly high pitches, I dig it. The traditional Hindi dance moves performed by men in modern clothing – the juxtaposition just about kills me.

But this video, from Bitchery reader Megan, has me totally transfixed. Not only are the nuns gay, Benny Lava, but man, I am looking at anoraks in a whole new light. Sexy, sexy!

I just don’t even know WHAT to say! My face hurts from laughing so hard. Also, the speeded-up Michael-Jackson moves from that hairy guy were just too freaky. Loony buns indeed!

  2. Bonnie says:

I saw this video a couple of days ago and I thought to myself upon finishing it, “I should email this to the SBs because this is so up their alley!”  I obviously didn’t, so I am really pleased to see that you came upon it yourselves!  It is like a bad clinch cover in motion, with back up dancers.  The interpretation is hilarious!

  3. Alley says:

Heeee!  This combines two of my favorite things: crazy-ass Bollywood music and silly translations of foreign music videos.  Now I’m going to have that song stuck in my head for the rest of the day.

  4. Cathy in AK says:

OMG, what a riot!  Definitely needs a “spew on the keyboard” warning.

At some angles, the lead guy looks a lot like George Michael.  Maybe this explains why we haven’t heard much about him lately (other than legal things).  Just saying.

  5. Walt says:

    Okay, THAT was funny!

Why do I get the feeling that this is what network TV is going to look like if the writers strike continues well into next year?

  6. denni says:

Laughed till it hurt, didn’t take much today because I’ve been at the dentist 3 times this week…but funny video.

  7. Angelina says:

Damn, those were some fly-ass dance moves!

  8. Jen says:

Looney Buns are fine, but the Smart Bitch Novel Cover Theme Song is just brilliant.

antispam: labor81 – I had to labor for my breathing while watching this one.

  9. Yes,the Michael Jackson moves were excellent, but nothing can beat the I’m-too-sexy-for-my-jacket intro!!!

My only complaint? I couldn’t watch and read the awesome translations at the same time!

  10. AnimeJune says:

“You know the hole to put it.”

    Best. Pick up. Line. EVER.

  11. taybug says:

Holy fuckmonkeys, that was FUNNY!!!!!! My day has sucked thus far, but that just made it up for it. I love dude and his jacket scene at the beginning.

  12. Katrin says:

Just delurking for a quick correction (and for telling you how much you guys rock!): The song is actually not from a Bollywood movie but from a Tamil film called Pennin Manadhai Thottu.
Prabhu Deva, the guy in the video is mainly working as a choreographer for Tamil and Telugu movies and has directed one of the most successful Telugu movies in recent years, called Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana. You have to watch this clip from the film – it’s fabulous (the movie is fantastic, too!):

  13. I was just going to say that this had to be a South Indian movie, and not a Bollywood production.  The guy looked South Indian, and Bollywood leading men tend to be (with the notable exception of John Abraham) from North India.  And Bollywood movies had better production values—their song sequences are filmed in exotic locations.

And I would have guessed Telegu, just b/c that’s one of the biggest regional movies market.

Boy, I’m getting so good at this.

  14. KL says:

    Oh, Bollywood.

I will forgive the Indian film industry so many things, because they also give me this:

    … that’s Shahrukh Khan. He’s forty-two.

    *wibbles*

  15. Megan Hart says:

    I love it! 😉
