Bitchery reader plainjane sent me this fascinating link to “good girl” comic art, where the impossibly arched feet and giant perfectly circular breasts make them all look like “Katy Keene fights crime” – how DO they walk in those overly-arched feet, anyway?
Even more fun is the Gangster & Gun Moll comic – nice shooter(s)!
Either way, it’s nice to know that absurdly-proportioned women are as always not exclusive to the romance genre cover art.
I especially like how the Gangaster one has the legend ‘A Realistic Comic’ in the corner. Realistic where? Planet Barbie?
Oh, and joining the ‘gay kids’ in I Joined A Teen-Age Sex Club! In which no sex actually appears to occur…imagine my disappointment!
Another interesting source of absurdly-proportioned women are Russ Myer films. Watch “Faster Pussycat Kill Kill” for some really odd proportions.
Holy Suggestive Cover! Call me crazy, but I just love proof that our wholesome-seeming forefathers had dirty, dirty minds.
This reminds me of when a good girlfriend (who’s fricken supermodel pretty) said “I just love Jennifer Garner. She’s so normal looking.” And another girlfriend shot wine out her nose and replied, “Yeah, on Planet Supermodel she’s barely average.”
Did anyone else see “Firehair, White Queen of the Indians”? Guess that particular storyline isn’t limited to Cassie Edwards.
These are great! My mom (yes, my MOM) gave me a calendar of good girl art in which the girls are all posed writhing around in different cocktails.
This month is a tequila sunrise. Just fyi.
Stunning!
The Junior ones seems to carry some whiff of sexed up Archie comics.
I’ve been planning to put up my cover scans of lesbian PBOs but I didn’t realize that these even existed.
Maybe this will inspire me.
DS,
I noticed the JUNIOR one too. It looks like the kid’s humping the fire hydrant because he is all hot and bothered by the dark-haired chick’s bouffant. The red-haired girl laughing at him is just a great bonus.
Am I the only one here who really kind of wants to read “Invasion of the Love-Robots” now? Because seriously, all three of those expressions are priceless.
