It’s a Smart Bitch Boy!

Baba O’Riley arrived at 9.20pm on September 14, 2007 – 7lbs. and 7 oz. Baby and mama are just fine.

The short story: after laboring all day, we never got the party started so it moved into the OR where I had a C-section. Baba arrived happy and healthy.  I am sore but there is morphine involved so I’m doing ok. We are blessed and happy to have a healthy baby boy. Thank you for all your kind thoughts throughout the day!

Pictures? But of course!

Hugs and kittens and puppies and ponies to everyone at Casa Sarah.

  2. Dee says:

Giant Congrats! Bummer about the c-section but man, you look a hell of a lot better after yours than I did after mine!

    Mazel Tov!
    Dee

  3. Congratulations! It’s been a great day for babies—a coworker of mine just had one last night, according to the announcement we got today, AND my little sister gave birth to a baby girl this morning. 🙂

The September air just must be generally fertile!

  4. Jennie says:

    Congratulations!  What a cutie.  🙂

  5. Look at you already posting news and pictures! What a woman 🙂

All the best to you guys. Enjoy the morphine while you can!

  10. smartmensab-tch says:

Congratulations! And my best hopes for a quick recovery from the C-section.

I know the recovery from a C-section is difficult, but the doctor screwed up and didn’t do one when I was born, which is why I’m an only child.  My mom and I were lucky to both come through the birth all right.

  11. Teddy Pig says:

Another Virgo! Our evil plan is working!

  12. Dechant says:

  14. Ann Aguirre says:

Woohoo! You look wonderful, and he looks pissed. Wanted to stay in the mommy-condo, I reckon. Grats, dude.

  15. Victoria Dahl says:

Congratulations!!! Sarah you look beautiful! How do you do it? And of course your husband and boy look handsome as hell!

Btw, I have two little boys who are only 22 months apart. Get in touch if you need advice. But not too soon. I have no memory of the first year after the second one was born. *g*

Enjoy the baby! AND the drugs!

  16. taybug says:

  20. Nanna says:

Congratulations! And look at you being all posty with pictures and stuff. Get some sleep while you’re in hospital, okay?

Word: progress77. Yes. Giving birth sure is progress!

  21. Congratulations!!!! What a lovely family!

(Both my girls were c-sections. Made me happy. You get Percocet. Don’t let them try and send you home with a script for 20. You need at least thirty.)

  22. kis says:

Congratulations! That’s a coupla handsome dudes you got there. It’s a bummer about the C-section, but at least you don’t have a bunch of broken capillaries from pushing. I swear after my last one (11+lbs) I looked like my husband was a batterer for like a week.

Take some opiates and get some rest. And then take some more opiates. And milk the recovery for all it’s worth, baby!

  23. Charlene says:

    Congratulations!! What a cutie!

  24. Charity Mullen says:

What an incredibly pissed off-looking baby you have there.  He is so cute!

    Happy recovery.  Enjoy the drugs.

  25. Congratulations! Well Done!  All the best wishes.

  26. Keri Ford says:

Congrats and best of luck for a healthy recovery!

  27. Congratulations. Excellent news. You look quite the family.

Peppermint tea is excellent for coping with those problems of excessive wind that come from being cut open.
And remember, a c-section is a major operation. Expect to be tired.

  28. Karen Scott says:

Ahhhhh…. Huge congrats, Baby looks like he’s got a good set of lungs!

    You’re positively glowing!

  29. Marianne McA says:

Congratulations. A fall guy for freebird… And enjoy. I thought the second babyhood was much nicer than the first, cos I’d worked out the important stuff, like how not to drop her.

  30. SB Sarah says:

Thank you very very much, y’all! I am not at all upset about the c-section – my philosophy has always been that I didn’t care if the baby came out my nose so long as I had a healthy baby and a healthy mama at the end.

Baba O’Riley is a big, happy, healthy man, and I now have a sexy abdominal smile. Heh heh.

  31. Anna says:

Heartfelt congratulations!  The little guy looks quite indignant to have been forced out of his comfy nest.  And look at you, all gorgeous and radiant after a C-section!  How on earth did you manage that?  I looked dead for a week afterwards.

  32. He’s beautiful! Luscious hair! Let’s hope his first word isn’t “crapweasel.”

  33. Angela James says:

I love those pictures! You all look so happy. Well. Baba O. not so much in that second picture. But still, what a gorgeous little man. Congratulations, Sarah!

  34. MaryKate says:

Mazel Tov! So glad to hear all is well!

  35. Sarah Frantz says:

Congratulations!  I hope your recovery is swift and full of morphine!

You could get a tattoo around the scar, like I did for my stretch marks!

I’ll be thinking of you when I try to deliver in a couple of weeks, hoping I look as good when I’m done!

  36. AmandaG says:

Congratulations!  You look fabulous, and your manwhore is cute and the baby has a lovely scream.

Make sure you ask for your drugs on time, and I found that the nurses tend to wait until you ask instead of bringing them on schedule.

Take it easy and let your manwhore pamper you for the next couple of weeks until you are healed.

  37. Leslee says:

Congrats! Your little boy is beautiful. Take care of yourself and get plenty of rest. Just had my second c-section two months ago. I had the same philosophy as you, as long as they are healthy, that is all that matters. Enjoy!!!

  38. Felicia says:

Congrats on the handsome new baby boy!  Yep, nothing else matters as long as both of you make it to the end of the process healthy and happy.  Let everyone pamper you for the next few weeks while you recuperate and pamper the newest member of your family.

verification: about42 – very funny because that’s exactly what I am.

  39. Estara says:

    Congratulations, Omedetto and Herzlichen Glückwunsch!

May your whole family enjoy health!

  40. Ann Bruce says:

He’s looks like he has a world-class set of lungs.  Congrats!
