  1. *happy sigh*

    Me, too.

  2. Vanessa says:

So after the longest time living in lurkdom, this video is pulling me right out. I love this so hard lol

Does anyone know all the movies used? I can pick out Ever After and P&P both versions, but I cant figure out the rest.

  3. Lisa#2 says:

So now I’m off to Amazon to figure out what’s available on DVD…

    I heart you guys!

  4. lisabea says:

love this song…they actually play it on our local radio station. small towns rock.

  5. LizC says:

Does anyone know all the movies used?

There’s also Emma, North & South (Elizabeth Gaskell. It’s a BBC miniseries. It’s the one where Richard Armitage hands the woman a yellow flower), Under the Greenwood Tree (a slightly racy mini based on a Thomas Hardy novel IIRC), the newest Jane Eyre with Toby Stephens, Sense and Sensibility, Little Women (Winona Ryder and Gabriel Byrne), Phantom of the Opera.

Those are most of them. I can’t figure out the Sophia Myles one and a few others.

  6. Eunice says:

    P&P (two versions)
    Ever After
    North & South
    Tess of the D’bervilles
    Jane Eyre
    Mansfield Park
    Sense and Sensibility
    Emma (two versions)
    Little Women
    Phantom of the Opera
    Daniel Deronda

    There was a couple I didn’t recognize.

  7. Madeleine says:

The Sophia Myles one was The Abduction Club. (Mmm, Matthew Rhys). I thought I saw a flash of Keeley Hawes in there, so presumably also Our Mutual Friend?

There were a couple of the new, completely adorable Northanger Abbey adaptation – and maybe Persuasion too.

  8. LizC says:

The Keeley Hawes was actually Under the Greenwood Tree. Although I wouldn’t say there weren’t two different Keeley Hawes movies in there. I just know that one was Under the Greenwood Tree.

  9. Oh, that was so uplifting and sweet! All that soft backlighting and tall grass had me tingling.
Heh, the verification word is England77.

  10. Lizp says:

hi, I wonder if anyone can tell me which movie where the guy was wiping some smudges off the girl’s face from?

    many thanks

  11. desertwillow says:

    That was sweet….

  12. Madeleine says:

Thanks for clearing that up, LizC. I didn’t think that was Paul McGann, but it’s been forever since I watch OMF and he did have some pretty weird hair in that movie.

And the wiping smudges off girls’ faces guy is Mr. Tilney (J. J. Field) in Northanger Abbey. Seriously, it’s an adorable adaptation and I really recommend it.

God, this has reminded me how much I lovelovelove that kissing in the grass scene in the new Jane Eyre. Oh, Toby Stephens! Even if you’re a communist and disfigured by fire and an adulterer and a Bond villain…I still love you unreasonably.

  13. Theresa says:

Le sigh… Thanks for sharing this.  Definitely makes for a happy start to the day.  I thinking I’ll be watching/rewatching some movies in the not-so-distant future.

  14. Kristie(J) says:

Oh I DID love this!!  It put a happy *sigh* smile on my face on a day when I didn’t want to go to work.  I love period movies too and while I was watching I was hoping we could get a list of the movies.  I recognized some but not all.

  15. Sarah Frantz says:

That was a wonderful way to start my morning.  It reminded me of my little collection of videos of people kissing, but they’re all boys kissing boys.  I’m linking to my blog rather than to the YouTube links because apparently, they’ve been marked as potentially objectionable and you have to sign-on to YouTube to see them that way.  But they show up in my blog.  Enjoy!

  16. Carrie Lofty says:

Damn, I am such a girl. *wipeshappytear*

  17. saltypepper says:

    *sigh*

That right that is pure PMS-be-gone.  It could be marketed for medicinal purposes.  Side effect include a big, dopey grin for the remainder of the day.

  18. Vuirneen says:

I saw Billie Piper in one of them.  She was in Mansfied Park.

  19. Ricki says:

I sent it to all my friends.  So adorable.  And you guys continue to rock hard for naming most (all?) of the movies.  Thank you!

I feel embarrassed, though – I’ve seen Ever After but didn’t notice any scenes from it.

  20. muguet says:

Awww…I love me some historical movies….especially guys w/their hair in queues

  21. muguet says:

  22. Qadesh says:

I’m with lovelysalome, I’m such a girl.  That version of Over the Rainbow, just makes you smile.

And I’ve watched dang near every movie on that video at least once.  Now that A&E is showing Dog the Bounty Hunter and the show that features Gene Simmons all the time, they never reshow any of those wonderful period films they used to show.  *sob*  Why can’t we get a period movie channel?  I’d sign up.
