    So I just went over to the ALA list (WILL THIS WORKDAY EVER END?!) and I would like to know why the “What’s Happening to My Body?” book for girls was challenged more frequently than the one for boys. God forbid girls should know anything about their own sexual health…grumble, grumble…repressive woman-hating bastards…

    I was so surprised to see “Mommy Laid an Egg” by Babette Coleman on the list.  I can see why some parents would object to it, but that’s why people are supposed to vet the books before giving them to small children. But in general, it gives kids a happy view of sex, so it’s still on my shelves.  It’s not a stand-alone sex education book by any means, but a nice supplement.
