Not to poop on the parade, but have any of you read this article? http://www.cleansheets.com/coverstories/bright_06.22.05.shtml titled “Romancers and Raincoaters” by Susie Bright. She is supposedly quite prominent in erotica circles, and here she gives her take on the growing appeal of erotic romance and the current state of the “Romancing World”. I found it…laughable. I also left a comment.

See, what gets it me is how people who talk about romance in the media and mention awful romance stereotypes just don’t get it right. Now, if they’d make fun of secret babies in series romance (instead of equating Harlequin with OMG HOT SEX) and bluestocking heroines paired up with rakish rakes for historicals, I’d be a lot more inclined to chuckle because the skewering would at least be accurate.
